Selection Chart for Hazardous Response Protection
This chart is provided to assist in the selection of the appropriate personal protective equipment to protect individuals from hazardous materials and contamination.
Protection is divided into Levels A, B and C based on the level of protection provided.
| Application | Protection Level |
| Maximum protection for use when the greatest level of skin, respiratory, and eye protection is required. Examples include first responders, clean-up, rescue, and decontamination. | A |
| Excellent protection when a high level of respiratory protection is required but a lesser level of skin protection is required. Examples include second responders, clean-up, rescue, medical, company, building engineers, utilities, and RR. | B |
| Good protection when the concentration(s) and type(s) of airborne substances are known and the criteria for using air-purifying respirators are met. Examples include clean-up, rescue, medical, company, building engineers, utilities, and RR. | C |
